Position Summary
Mechanics perform routine maintenance as well as minor/major repairs of ground equipment and automobiles. Repairs are made indoors in a garage or outdoors on the ramp. Responsibilities include: repairing and overhauling ground support equipment, performing troubleshooting of ground support equipment, maintaining equipment in a safe condition, performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing, keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working conditions, keeping work areas clean and free of hazards.
Essential Functions:
· Determines vehicle condition, performs inspections, and conducts diagnostic tests
· Repair Ground Service Equipment (GSE)
o Diagnose GSE
o Welding
o Equipment restoration
o Engine and transmission replacement
· Communicate with Parts Department to obtain parts
· Documentation of work performed
· Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as disposal of hazardous wastes
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
· 18 Years of Age
· Authorized to work in US
· Ability to obtain an Airport Operations Area (AOA) badge and other airport requirements
· Ability to regularly and continuous lift up to 70 lbs.
· 1 year+ experience as an auto mechanic or GSE mechanic preferred
· Certification in Heavy duty/Commercial or Automotive mechanic license is a plus
· Valid Driver’s License
